Managing Outlook Inbox

I am trying to learn more about managing the inbox -- our staff has a
tendency to save way-too many emails. I found a great write up for Netscape,
does the same apply to Outlook? Specifically, how the inbox should be kept

Depends to some extent on the version of Outlook, and its mode, pop or
exchange, all of which you failed to mention.
As a start you set up the Archive option / procedure

Thank you and sorry about that. It's Exchange.

But I'm still wondering if keeping the In Box lean makes as much difference
as what Netscape describes. In other words, can one read the Netscape tip and
be correct to basically replace "Netscape" with "Outlook". Are they similar
in that regard?

Well I dont have any dealings with exchange, and I would assume you are
using ost files.
If users are also using pst files on their local PC, then in OL2002 this
file can baulk at 1.6gb and totally bomb at 2gb - also MS doesnt support the
use of a pst over a network as it can lead to corruption.
Netscape is a web based email client and as such is completely different to
a PC email app

I'm using an old Netscape which is ISP based, not web. Messages download to
my PC. Since the Outlook messages download to the server, I thought that was
somewhat the same -- instead of downloading to my computer, they download to
the server.

But, my main concern is does the Outlook INBOX get bogged down when it has
extra folders created within the Inbox.

I'm not as computer smart as you -- I'm not sure what you are referring to
by OST or PST.
