manage Adobe driver programmatically

I'd like to be able to programmatically manage the Adobe Acrobat printer
driver. Specifically, turn on and off the prompt to save PDF files and
instead save them to a designated location. TIA......

I always found the adobe printer hard to work with:

--- when then flag your computer for a download, I find things tend to break
after they do this.

--- you have to install, and setup adobe on your computer for your access
software to run

--- it is a pain to write code to switch printers..and set the output file
name with adobe.

A MUCH better solution is to use Stephens PDF creator. It allow you to set
the output file name, and you do NOT have to switch printers, and you DO NOT
have to install any abode software for this to work. And, it 100% free....

You can find it here:

You may be right, but we've already purchased and installed Acrobat.
Downloading files is frowned upon in this environment (a bank/securities
firm) so we have to make it work with Acrobat.

Worse case scenario, I can have the users re-set the driver to prompt them
for the file location after they have finished, or they can simply leave it
and go get any files that happen to accidentally get sent there. It's not the
best solution but it's a lot better than what they were doing before.

Thanx for your feedback.
