Malicious script

Hi,
I am trying to uninstall some programmes that were preinstalled at the
factory. I have to uninstall them through the PC Manufacturer's panel rather
than in Add & Remove Programmes. Despite turning off the anti-virus as
requested, each time I try to uninstall, my PC is halted saying there is
malicious script. I do have the option of allowing the script, but not
knowing much about it, I've not carried on any further. I've read some
instructions on Symantec's Help Page but none of this works for me.
Anyone know what the alternatives are?

I have come across this before, your computer will report a malicious script
is trying to run when you try to uninstall the software, the script is simply
the uninstaller, allow the script to run and the software will uninstall.

Let me know if that helps ?

The programmes in question are AOL 9.0 and Cyberlink Power Cinema

Thanks for help. I need to satisfy myself first though before running the
script that it is safe, too late once I've done it. How does one know, is it
left to chance?
