Making Windows Mail My Default Mail Handler

I was not happy with Windows Mail and installed Outlook 2003 as my default
mail handler. However, I have decided to use Windows Mail exclusively now.
The problem is I am unable to switch back to Windows Mail as my default mail
program. I have tried through the default icon under the control panel which
should fix the problem but once I close out it reverts right back to Outlook
2003. What can I do?

I have, many times, but it still defaults to Outlook as if I never changed
it. I have tried everything.

Outlook sucks for doing that :by design" according to the Office Team.

I haven't tried to see if "winmail.exe" /reg works or not. Might try that
from a command line.
