what is the " NSW" short for? what is the meaning of " SE "in " SE Asian
countries "?

I am very envy the Chinese students who are able to go to University in
Australia.
It must be very exciting. o(∩_∩)o
 
SE is South East Asia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Burma, Singapore (and others). But not China, Russia, Japan, or
the Koreas because you are on the mainland. Likewise not Australia, Papua
New Guinea etc as Australia is it's own continent
and PNG is an Island.

NSW is the state of New South Wales in Australia. Australia has 6 sovereign
states and 2 self governing terrorities. Six of the seven british self
governing colonies decided to federate in 1901. New Zealand didn't join but
they were listed in the Australian Constitution as a founding state.

Chinese people have been in Australia since white people came here. Although
they were not treated well till the last 30 years. When I grew up I saw
virtually no asians until 1975 when Vietnamese refegees came here (and
Chinese ones in 1989). Now Australia, at least in the big cities, look like
Asian cities. Asian faces everywhere. Asian shops everywhere. It's hard to
find takeaway food that isn't asian (except at McDonalds). You'd feel at
home. Even the triads are here. A lot are other asians, there are more sushi
shops in Australia than anything else it seems which makes me unhappy as I
don't eat raw fish.

Along with Australia's asianisation there is also a continental thing
happening where we think we are all italians drinking coffee on sidewalk
cafes earing our foccias for lunch or breakfast while reading vogue.

As a software author and a writer, 100% of my income is derived by people
*buying* my intellectual property. When people have problems with lack of
money and contact me, I have always found an accommodation that keeps us
both happy -- and honest. I suggest you do the same?

I don't mean to preach, but the first time you find your own intellectual
property stolen, you'll feel similarly.

Jeff, look at shareware (which will have its own set of restrictions),
freeware or demo ware. Look on www.tucows.com as a start. The freebies may
not do everything or everything as well as their commercial big brothers,
but at least you're being honest.............
 
Pirated software in China and some other countries is an international and
diplomatic political issue. So best not to talk about it unless you want to
argue about with people.

Although my teacher saw to me it is no politest to ask foreigner how old

I'm 47. You don't ask girls their age, ago to ask boys.

New Zealand was expected to join but they ended up not voting. Our
constitution had to be written before one could vote to accept it or not.
Australia big country. like China. New Zealand closer to me than most of
Australia.

Like America, Australia is a federation. Federations consist of sovereign
states. To federate the states give some powers to the federal government
(basically defence, forgein affairs, and trade). Any powers not given
federal government stay with the state and overrule federal powers.

A terrority isn't a state so the Federal government has all powers, they let
the terrority have some powers (the same as states) but they can take it
away anytime. They cannot take away a state's power.

EG The Northern Terrority legislated to allow euthanasia. So the federal
government used it powers to overrule the NT government. In this matter the
federal govt had no powers over a state so wouldn't have been able to
overrule a state.

Also as the Australian Constitution was written after the Americian Civil
war we had things put in to prevent a slaughter like that in Australia.
Specifically the states are forbidden to raise Armies. In Americia nearly
every state has a National Guard (a federal/state military force - some with
Airforces and Navies), plus some states also have their own Armies called
State Militia not under any federal control. They seem to expect to go to
war with each other. Americia has a lot of seperate armies.
