Making computer like brand new again

I messed up my computer and I think the only way to fix it is to make it
brand new again. I was walked through how to do it by phone one time but dont
remember how. Can someone tell me how to get there?

I'm guessing the OP is referring to using an OEM restore CD?? In which
case, read the manual. It should explain it in detail.

Hi Josh,

Please give us more information. Who made the machine? Is it XP Home, Pro.
or MCE? Did it come with a set of CD's, and if so what are the CD's labeled
as? Do you have the manual that came with the computer (assuming it did)?

After backing up any data that you want to preserve, simply boot from
the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the opportunity to delete,
create, and format partitions as part of the installation process. (You
may need to re-arrange the order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to
boot from the CD.)

Then reinstall your applications and restore the backed up data.
