Making changes to existing excell documents

The standard procedure is "open, make changes, save, close". Which problems are you
encountering ?

Are the files read-only?
When they load, the title bar (very top of the screen)
will show the file name and (read only).

If they are read-only, you could Save-As to a different
name.

If this isn't your problem, post another note with the
exact problem and any error message.
