I added a .swf file and would like it to link to another page when clicked on.
The hotspot icons are greyed out when the area is selected.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you can do it, since the Shockwave file is not a normal gif or jpg
image, for which the "hotspot" hyperlink feature was intended.

You would need to do it internally within the animation itself to add links to it
(and you'd require Director or Flash probably).

Andrew is correct, you can't do it. Any link has to be done inside the
actual flash animation as embedded object can't be linked the same as an
image or text can.

Hope this helps,

This actually CAN be done, but you need to have a program
such as SWiSHMaX to do it. I have the program and would
be more than willing to take a look at it and possibly
put the link you want in the file. If you can e-mail me
the file I will see what I can do for you. Just send it
to me at (e-mail address removed)

yes, but you still have to edit the SWF file. Not apply a hotspot like with gif
and jpg images. original poster was asking 'can you use hotspots'. as in the
hotspots used on gif and jpgs.
