I have windows xp, IE 6.
I want to make a quick key or permanent note - I have no idea what you call
it. I have looked through Microsoft Help, but couldn't find an answer
there, probably because I didn't call it the right thing.
But this is what I want to do:
Whenever I order something, I put the same note in the "message or shipping
box". Isn't there a way I can press one key or something that will put that
note up so I don't have to keep retypying the whole thing? I have several
areas where I could use this feature.
Thanks

You can use a program called RoboForm .. in the identities editor there is a
custom field name section .. it would take some playing to figure out what
the field name most companies use for the message or shipping box but it
does allow you to use several string matches for one field name.. if you
want to play a bit and learn the program it should do what you are
interested in doing

I think what I am looking for used to be called "hot keys", where you
pressed one of the "f" keys and it
brought up a certain message. Does this ring a bell to anyone? Thanks.

I use a program called 'Macro Express'. It will do what you want, but
it's not free. Check out www.macros.com for more info.

If it's something you only do occasionly, and the text you type is
rather long, you might just type the text in Notepad, and then open
Notepad and use copy / paste to copy it to your form.

I don't like to use those automated form filling applications. I feel
that they could be dangerous if misused. I just don't like the idea of
a program 'knowing' my personal information. Using Macro Express, I
have shortcuts that will 'type' my text, but I get to request the
shortcut instead of it happening automatically.
