A new machine, VGN CR220E, Vista Home Premium.
As common, today, no Backup / restore disks.
(or any other software and/or manual)

I was told one can make one (CD-ROM or DVD)
I'll like to.

Also, I don't see Outlook Express.

Any advise?
Thanks,

Contact the OEM who sold you the computer about creating a Restore disk.
Usually information about how to create restore disk is included in the
manuals that accompany your PC.

Outlook Express has been replaced by Windows Mail.

Exactly how to do that depends on your particular computer. Check your
documentation, check the manufacturer's web site, or call the
manufacturer for information.

The new name for Outlook Express in Vista is "Windows Mail." Microsoft
elected to give it a new name instead of just increasing the version
number. Good move, in my view, since it removes the longstanding
confusion between Outlook and Outlook Express.

and created a new one:

Yep, that's a whole new set of confusions. Nevertheless, the change of
name from Outlook Express to Windows Mail *was* a good move. The
subsequent additions of Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail
were bad moves.
