My computer came with windows XP alreday installed. How
do I make a back up copy of this program? I had a message
come up today that read operating system not found. I was
trying to restore my system to an earlier time. when it
shut down and rebooted the message came up. I had to
reboot by removing the battery. I need to know how to
make a back up copy of my operating system. Please help I
am computer illiterate. LOL

This isn't really something we can assist you with as every manufacturer is
different. I am guessing from your reply that you didn't receive any
restore/recovery/repair discs with the system? The i386 (the directory that
contains the installation files) will be on a hidden partition. How you
access this partition is not something I can assist you with, but the answer
will be found by RTFM that came with the system.

If you are still unsure, then I suggest you contact the vendor and/or
manufacturer.

Hi

You can use a 3rd party program, such as Drive Image - www.powerquest.com - but your PC should have at least come with the ability to restore it back to the time when you first received it. Have you contacted your PC supplier to see if they can help?
