Make the task pane visible during a PowerPoint presentation

I often use PowerPoint while teaching. I would like to be able to see the
task pane during a PowerPoint presentation so I can quickly switch back and
forth between the presentation and another program. That way I can use
PowerPoint to explain and review what I am teaching in another prgram.
I don't want to esc out of the presentation in order to access Excel,
FrontPage, Word or what ever.
Is this possible?

Alt+Tab will allow you to jump between open programs.

And a simple click and hold of the "Windows" key (the one with the flying
Windows symbol on it) will bring up the task bar so that you can use it to
jump between apps. (I find it works better than Alt-Tab when I am moving
between three or more apps.)
