I would like to be able to blank out my screen when people walk into my
office. any advice on how to do this please.

Hi,

I use one called "blkscrn", it's just an .exe file you put on your desktop
or shortcut it there, size is 9k, it's originally for w98 I think, but
works fine with XP, don't know about vista.

found a link using google: (I think it's the same, just updated from the one
I use)
http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/security/black/ might be worth checking
out,

or you could just set up your computer and when you hit Ctrl/Alt/Del, then
K, it will put you back at the signon window.. requiring a password to get
you back in.
The setup for that is something to do with the way the welcome window
works.. someone else could probably give you the skinny on that.

good luck,
niteowl

Hit the power button on your monitor.

i think an easy way to
blank out your screen is
to create a shortcut then
set a keyboard hot key
sequence of your choice.

for example:

right click on the
desktop and select
to create a shortcut.

then copy and paste
this line in the blank
field:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\scrnsave.scr

[c drive is the default however
you can replace it with the drive
letter where your system files
are located]

after creating the desktop
shortcut, the icon will appear
on the desktop.

then you can right click
on it and customize its properties
a bit further - emphasizing
on the field where you can
input your keyboard key
combination to engage
your new "shortcut" .

[Window+M] minimizes all windows. Is that sufficient?

[Window+D] does much the same thing with the added benefit that a further
[Windows+D] restores the windows back the way they were - more or less.
