I have one long report . about 200 pages. in this report I have expense
details for each patientid. there is a header for each patientid . this
patientid will show the patient name and his date when treatment starts and
ends.so its difficult to look into the whole 200 pages to fine a patientid.
is there a way in Access to creat a summry or index that will show like
patint name treat start page no
ahmed 1/1/2007 4
billai 26/12/2006 1

and so on

the report is based on u union query
if this thing can be done in the same report or even in a new report.

You could change the base query to a "make table" query, sorted by patient
and create a record count field. For the index, you could write another
report query against this table that would list the patients and calculate
the beginning page # based on the record count and avg. number of records per
page.
