Major Problems with XP SP@

I thought I had problems with my home pc after installing SP2, but it does
not compare with the problems the company I work for has with the SP2.

I work for a major ad agency, and I can't even begin to tell you how many
computers we have. A lot of them are Xp platorms and this weekend the
computer guys were there updating the computers. When I got to work this
morning, nearly every computer that had been updated had a problem. My
computer which has the xp professional installed on it refused to let me on
the internet. And I couldn't get it to talk to the company server at all. I
left work about 4, and the computer guys were back at it again. The CEO is
really pissed.

And to think I was complaining about the problems I had with my upgrade on
my home pc. I think microsoft made a boo boo on this one.

Did your "computer guys" do any testing in your environment to ensure that
the install would go smoothly and all applications and functions would not
be impacted by SP2?
Did they follow all the best practice published advice on how to prepare the
machines for the upgrade etc?

SP2 has been successfully installed on a huge number of machines without
issue or incident. This is across both corporate and home systems.
The majority of problems you see are related to either inadequate testing to
identify issues prior to install or existing issues with the machines that
the SP is just bringing to the forefront.
