So I am no expert about using my computer but I consider
myself to have decent knowledge. Anyway, something
happened the other day I couldn't explain, at the bottom
right of the screen popped up a cd drive with an circle x
over it that says "DirectCD, no supported drive." What is
this? I have no idea, and how can I fix this? Second
problem is today I turned on the computer and the monitor
refuses to display in anything but 800x600 in 4 COLORS,
it won't give me another option when I click on four
colors. And when it asked if I wanted it to automatically
fix it and I said yes it did nothing. Please help me fix
this. Thanks for the help. For ANY HELP.

It sure sounds like your pc is forgetting everything. Did you make any
changes between the time it worked and the time it didn't? Did you have
a power surge? I'd do some serious hardware testing right now.
