Maintain fixed section of formula in series

Last month I was on here for help with the "NETWORKDAYS"
formula, and it worked fine, thanks again to those who
gave a hand. I have come across a small problem though,
and I was hoping for a bit more help.

I've carried my formula down for a whole year's worth of
files, literally thousands of them. And it correctly
carried the formula down the series just like it's
supposed to (IE it looks for d3 in the first cell, then
d4, then d5, and so on.)

The problem is that I need part of the formula to NOT do
that. I have a seperate sheet in the workbook set up for
the holidays that the NETWORKDAYS formula is to exclude,
on Holidays!B4:B12 That gives the formula the dates to
exclude for holidays. The problem comes when I carry the
series down the columns, because the next line says
Holidays!B5:B13, then B6:B14, and so on.

Well, the Holiday dates the formula needs are fixed in
cells 4-12. How can I make that part of the formula
remain fixed? I tried a find/replace function, but I
can't get it to work properly. I could just be entering
it wrong.

Anyway, any help, as always will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Use $B$4:$B$12 instead.

When editing or entering a formula, with the cursor in or next to an
address, press F4 to toggle between the several mixes of relative and
absolute

Thanks very much. Now that you mention that, I think I
remember seeing that somewhere a few years ago. :)
