Hi,
XP HOME - 512 RAM -lots of g's left on my "C" drive - ALL
upgrades
I recently installed DISKEEPER, and also the drivers for my APC 350
UPS. Since then my PC has had moments of freezing; I have to wait
until it comes back by itself , maybe 40 seconds or so. I could
determine which of the two is the culprit by removing one, or the
other. But you know what a chore that can be for a busy guy!!
I did the three fingered salute and MAINSERVE.EXE appears to be the
culprit. I "END PROCESSED" it and all is then OK! Then on the next
boot, "Heeere's Mainserve". AGAIN!, with 97 percent of the CPU!
Is there something I can do to tell 'Mainserv.exe to get lost, besides
deleting the programs permanently? Can I render it compatible in some
way?
Many thanks for all the great help in the past.
