Main web and sub-web style interference

Problem: subweb changes affect main web.

Environment: FP 2003 client deploying to a Win2k3 server with FP2k2 server
extensions.

Details: I created a web for my company and then created a web for a friend
and deployed it as a sub web on my web site. However, there seems to be some
sort of interference between the two because now the navigation bars and
tabs of my main web have taken on the style of the sub web.

Is this normal or did I do something wrong? If not normal, how can I keep
style changes to the sub-web from affecting the main web (and vice versa)?

Subwebs are totally separate animals - separate from the momma web. Nav bars will not cross it unless you deliberately create them to link from sub to main.

Are you sure you created a subweb and not just a folder?

When you have the site open in FP, do you see a globe on the folder that is a subweb / subsite? If
not, it is a standard folder.
