I have tried Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird and
Mail To (eg: a photo or a document) doesn't bring up my
mail client. If I select a photo it will bring up the
window asking if I want to make the photo smaller or
or original size then Nothing comes up later.

Have tried making OS the default then TB but still
the same.

Any ideas? Thanks, Richard

Are you canceling the "resize" popup or choosing a selection and clicking
ok? If you're clicking Ok:
Try this:

The OS is not an e-mail client.

Create a shortcut on your desktop. For its command, enter:

mailto:

Then double-click that shortcut. Does the new-mail compose window
appear for your e-mail client?

Did you recently upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer? If
so, you might've fallen prey to the problem described in the below
article. Even though your e-mail client is shown under "Internet
Options -> Programs" as the default program, this other read-mail
setting can cause problems. The following is an issue with Windows, not
Internet Explorer:

"Read Mail" button does not work in Internet Explorer

I went to Control Panel/Internet Options and found that the default mail
client was set to Outlook Express (I refered to as OE above.)
I set to Mozilla Thunderbird, restarted my system (XP Home) but still,
when I select a photo or file and right click "send to" nothing happens,
other than the window for a picture asking for sizing. Thunderbird
options also is set as the default. Windows does not, however
co-operate. Is there a run command that I can look at to see what the
actual "Send To" settings are? Thanks

Created Desktop Shortcut "mailto:" and it works when I select it.
Mozilla Thunderbird comes up. When I right click on any file or picture
and select "Send To" nothing happens. In Control Panel, Thunderbird
Mail is set as the default. I changed it to Outlook Express and back to
Thunderbird but that did not help.

Be leery of advice from a SPAMMER who has a different agenda than the
pretense of giving help. This one does knows how to put his spam in a
signature but refuses to do so because some newsreaders strip off the
signature. He wants to ensure you see his spam.

That did it. Into the boob bin you go as well.

Set Tbird as the default in (1) Set Program Access and Defaults, (2) IE
Tools | Internet Options | Programs | E-mail, and in Tbird itself ("Make
Tbird the default Mail Handler").

The odd thing is that it does not matter whether Outlook Express or
Thunderbird is the default mail program - neither opens with "send to".
Both open when I use the mailto: icon on the desktop, depending on
which is set as the default. Is there anything that I can do to the
"Send To" folder in documents and settings/owner that might make it work?

To re-register the dll's associated with that feature:

1. Click Start, click Run
2. Type the following commands in the Run dialog box, and click OK (or
hit ENTER) after each command (noting the space between "32" and the
next letter). You can copy/paste these int that window, one line at a time:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

Did you yet try the suggestion in the winhelponline article? Otherwise,
see is what Elmo suggests will help (this has you re-register some DLLs
for Internet Explorer which presumably is where you are trying to do the
"Send To" function). Another similar article is:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902932

Neither Elmo's post or the above article mention re-registering the
sendmail.dll file (but is mentioned in the URL link in Brian's post).
