mails with attachments not being received

I can send messages from Outlook 2003 and the recipient receives them. When
I send a message from the same computer to the same people, with an
attachment, they do not receive the message, I do not receive an error
message or any other indication that it has not transmitted. Messages have
gone from my outlook and do appear in my sent items box.

I can send messages, with attachments, that are sent from my laptop using
the same connections over a wireless connection in the house.

Has anyone seen this before and more to the point, how do I start
transmitting messages with attachments from my desktop computer?

Thanking you in anticipation of a resolution.

Are your recipients using Microsoft Outlook or not? If not, check to see that
your default Outlook format is not Rich Text. This format is specific to
Outlook and non-Outlook users may have difficulty opening, reading, or may
not be able to open attachments or receive them.
If the items do show in your Sent Items and you don't receive an NDR
(non-delivery report) on an email, your recipients should check their junk
mail folders as part of troubleshooting.
Let me know how you make out.

unfortunatly, no messages with attachments are going out, but they do appear
in the outbox, breifly, and then in the sent items folder.

These messages are no just to one person or even a few people, they can go
to over 30 people at a time, one of the receipents is my work e-mail address
where we use Outlook 2003 as well.

You should enable viewing your send/receive progress to see if there are any
errors (messages and/or numbers).
If an email goes to the Outbox and then to the Sent Items folder, it's
normal to think that it has been sent especially if no NDR is returned. In
the options of each individual mail you can request a delivery receipt which
would assist you in tracking.
If you're at work and connecting to an Exchange server, is there a limit on
attachment size or restriction on attachment type? Is there a spam filter in
place that perhaps traps your mail before it gets to the recipient? Is it
being flagged at junk?

Then they ARE going out. The problem is on your mail server and that's not
something you control.
