Mails go missing when they arrive

Hi,

I'm running MS Outlook 2003 on my machine and recently I've added a couple
of Rules for my mailbox

Rule
1. When mail arrives from account 1, move it to folder account
1
, except for mails with abc in the subject
2. When mail arrives from account 2, move it to folder account
2
, except for mails with def in the subject
3. When mail arrives with abc in the subject, move it to folder
abc
4. When mail arrives with def in the subject, move it to folder
def

Thing is, alot of the mail gets filtered out and I have no idea where
they've gone to.

When I check my mail via the website, I have like 9-10 mail, but when
Outlook downloads it, I'm left with maybe only 1 or 2.

I've checked Junk folder and Deleted folders to no avail, please help.

I'd like to recover some of the lost mail, some important stuff in there.

Thanks and regards,
Solomon

I would try search folders. You can create a couple to find what you're
looking for, or use the unread mail folder in the search folders.

Thanks for the prompt reply, but I've tried that already...

Sigh... any other ways?

I have no unread mail, search folders are empty too...

Searching for it brings up no results too...

Thanks all in advance!

What type of account? Try adding the "stop processing more rules" action to
each of the rules you have.

I don't get it?

I'm using POP mails. Is that what you're asking?

I can't find the option to stop processing more rules.

Thanks for the reply!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Yes.

I can't find the option to stop processing more rules.

It's in the same place where you selected the "move it to a folder" action.

Ok, done, thanks.

But how about retrieving the mails that I've already lost, is it possible?

When Outlook uploads the mail, where does it go if the rules get screwed up?

thanks

If they're in your PST, sure.

Depends on the screw-up. However, your Unread Messages folder should always
have shown them and their folder(s) if they stayed in your data store.
