Mailing using external mailing list (not Contacts)

I have to do a mailing for a club that I belong to and would rather not have
the club's mailing list be part of my Contact list in the Address
Book.

Is there a way of having this list imported from a file? If so, is
there a specific format that needs to be followed?

Thanks in advance!
 
Clarify what you want to do. What type of mailing? In what format does this
list exist? Do you want to do a mail merge?
