Mail service informs me my Outlook mail box is full and over its allowed
capacity even though I have only 150 messages in all my files. This is
preventing me from receiving emails although I can send messages out. Ideas
on how to resolve this will be gratefully received

Checking in Outlook won't help. If you use POP mail and don't have your
client set up as it would be by default to remove messages from the mailbox
on the server after downloading them, your mailbox on the server is full.
See if your ISP has a webmail feature or check out www.mail2web.com

Thank you: I checked with my ISP and there was a full spam box there which
has now been emptied

Glad you got it resolved. Perhaps they need a spamfilter that doesn't
require that you manually clear your folder, but automatically deletes after
X days?
