Mailbox folder collapsed at startup

In 2003, the Mailbox folder in the All Mail Folders pane is always expanded
on startup. The bulk of usefulness is taken up in the Favorites and personal
folders. For preservation of real estate, is there a way to have the Mailbox
folder come up collapsed at startup?

If you collapse the tree and then close Outlook, it /should/ start up with
the tree collapsed - unless the folder you have designated Outlook to start
up in is the Inbox, in which case it will UN collapse the tree (AFAIK...)

To add to that, change the Navigation pane by selecting the icons at the
bottom. Folder List takes up the least space. Skip the Favorite Folders/Mail
icon. Sometimes you have to click Mail first, then Folder List to get rid of
Favorites.
