Mail with attachments WILL NOT send.

I can send and receive mail all day and night but when I attach anything and
try to mail, I get this:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Fantasy & Chantelle Wedding ZIP', Account: 'My Mailbox',
Server: 'smtp.starband.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I can see the lights on my modem and I am not disconnected, and other
programs continue to run just fine.
I only have this happen since using a new computer with VISTA and the new
email program.
Right now, I have my old laptop hooked to a phone line just to send mail
with attachements... its rediculous.
ANY help would be appreciated.

Thanks

This error is often associated with an AntiVirus system setup to scan email,
are you running one?

Disable your Anti Virus from scanning your mail. It then should go through.
Your email scanning is not need. Your resident AV will still stop anything trying to come in

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee,Trend and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail
and Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of
Trend's anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
