mail stays in outbox and is sent several times

My outbox will show outgoing messages. I get an error message saying that
the mail did not go out, however it does. If I do not go into my outbox and
delete the message, it wil go out several times. I've erased most of the
messages in my sent folder file, so that is not full. Appreciate any
suggestions.

Usually caused by scanning mail with your antivuris application. Uninstall
it and reinstall it witout the mail scanning feature.
