Mail merge

mail merge uses a data source for different field of any
record. I find the number of fields is quite limited .
is there a way to have a bigger number of fields ?
 
The number of fields is whatever is available from the datasource. Word
doesn't impose a limit. If your datasource is a table with many fields and
you select them all for your query, then they are all available for your
merge.
