Mail merge with Outlook contacts

Jim

I'm trying to set a mail merge for envelopes using Outlook contacts for data
source.
Word 2003 tells me it is unable to provide data tables from the data source.
Do I need to change something in either Outlook 2003 or Word 2003 to make
this connection?

It's probably simpler to change your approach and initiate the merge
from Outlook - choose the contacts you want to merge, then use
Outlook->Tools->Mail Merge... and read the options carefully. (The first
time, you'll probably want to create a new document or template, which
you shoud save in Word. Thereafter, you shoud be able to re-use that).

If you have existing templates/documents, be careful because the
mailmerge field names Word sees when you "initiate the merge from Word"
are not all the same as the ones when you "initiate the merge from Outlook"
