Mail Merge Will Not Work Outlook/wORD

I have Office 2003 - Business Edition. I installed the schdmapi.dll after
reading messages on this board. However, the MERGE button is always greyed
out & will not merge the address to an envelope.

If I start from WORD -Mail Merge - Select Receipients, Browse, Outlook
Personal Address Book - it comes up blank (no files to select from)

Outlook has not used a Personal Address Book for years. It is highly
unlikely you are.
You must have your Outlook profile configured with a valid mail transport
and the Outlook Address Book Service for a mail merge to work. Also, Outlook
must be your default mail program for the operating system.

All is correct - AND I double checked under DATA SOURCES the words "Outlook
Personal Address Book" is listed, so please do not automatically assume I am
wrong.

The QUERY is greyed out as indicated in my comments below.

I can create a merge going directly FROM WORD ( by selecting Outlook
Contacts Option) but not from OUTLOOK TO WORD.

I did not question that the Personal Address Book was listed or say that you
were wrong. I questioned whether you were actually using a PAB and whether
your setup was correct.
There is obviously something wrong with your setup and we need more complete
information to figure out what is wrong.
Having a PAB in your profile is the most likely culprit from what little
you've posted so far since Outlook no longer uses it.
How about you just tell us exactly how your default Outlook profile is
configured with regards to mail transports and address services so we don't
have to guess. You should be using the Outlook Address Service, not the PAB.
