Mail merge to email

When I mail merge to electronic mail my document is mangled in the body of
the email but is perfect if I choose as an attachment. Is there a way I can
send it as an attachment but also have a generic email body so that there is
not a blank email body when you open the email.

I need to have the attachments custom to the customer

Inasmuch as any Word document layout is preserved when opened on another PC,
you can send it as an attachment with covering memo using the method at -
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MailMerge/MergeWithAttachments.htm, but if you
wish to guarantee the layout you should be considering a PDF format
attachment for which you will require additional software.
