Mail merge stuck in outbox

I had 900+ emails to send to a group of physicians that I
have on a list.

About 100 of them went immediately, and the rest
seem "stuck" in the outbox. I have closed and reopened,
rebooted the whole computer, done everything I can think
of, including opening individual emails and trying to
send again. Nothing seems to work.

They are not grouped, but were done with a mail merge
(word). I have Outlook 2003 and use XP.

Any ideas?
