mail into specified folder based on addressee

I have 3 e-mail user accounts, say, mailA, mailB, mailC. I have 3 Mail
Folders, say FolderA, FolderB, FolderC. I want mail addressed to mailA to be
placed in FolderA, addresses to mailB in FolderB, etc. This can be done in
Outlook Express by using Message Rules. However, when I try to do this in
Outlook 2003, I’m informed I can’t do this in a Public Folder. Anyone know
how I can do this?
Cheers, Rob.calm

Outlook 2003 can certainly do this with rules. Your message is unclear,
however, about whether these are three Exchange accounts and where the 3
folders reside.

They are POP3 accounts (required by Comcast.net). The folders are subfolders
under Inbox. Hope this clarifies the question.

I can't imagine why you're getting a message about public folders in that
scenario, unless there is something you're not telling us. Just create a
rule for each account to move it into the correct folder.

Your imagination doesn't cover all the mistakes I can make. Properly
chastised, I retried the process of setting up the rule a couple of times,
and finally got it to work. While not providing specific help, your comment
was what I needed. Thanks.
