Mail format--advice, please!

Greetings! I have what is probably a very basic and mundane question. I
apologize to those of you more adept at some of the intricacies of email
than I and hope that you don't roll your eyes while reading this! But ... I
would appreciate some advice on the advantages/disadvantages of the 3
formats that are offered for mail in Outlook 2003: HTML, Rich Text, and
Plain Text. Your advice will help me to select the best format option.

Avoid RTF for mail sent to the internet since it only works with the
Outlook. Use plain text or html instead.
