mail disappearing from inbox

mail off and on is disappearing from my inbox. I'm using windows vista mail
program. my virus protection is up to date, and does not find any viruses. I
also have firewall protection and ad-ware protection. can anyone help with
this??

Open Windows Mail > click In-box > menu bar at the top, View > Current view

Another possibility is that some messages go to the Junk E-mail folder; have
you looked there? Most messages that go to the Junk E-mail folder are truly
spam, but you should look to verify that they are, but sometimes messages
that we truly want to see go to the Junk E-mail folder by mistake.
