I'm glad you problem is fixed, but the Unread Mail folder is not a real
folder. It's a search folder that contains a list of unread messages no
matter what folder they're really in. It even shows the name of the folder
where the message really resides. I suspect they were in your Inbox all
along (since mail cannot be delivered anywhere else) and that you simply had
a view on the Inbox that was hiding them.
