Mail configuration in 2 computers (Outlook 2007)

Bangali

Hi,

I am new to Outlook migrating from Eudora. I have installed Outlook
2007 in my desktop and laptop. When I copy the PST file to my laptop y
lost all my addresses in the Desktop and especially all the setup for
mail accounts. Becasue I work with 5 mail acounts I have to waste a
lot of time to reconfigure it. How is the best way to synchronize both
Outlooks to work with the same setup ?

Thanks a lot

Account information is kept in the registry (the mail profile) and not in
the PST so copying the PST won't transfer account data. You have to set
them up on each machine. You'll need to do this only once.

The address issue is due to the Outlook Address Book service not having a
connection to your Contacts folder after you moved the PST. That
information is also in the registry. See this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287563/en-us . I talks about OL 2002 and
2003, but the idea still applies.

Brian,
Thanks a lot for your help. I have spent a lot of time trying to
understand Oulook after migrating from Eudora. I see tje problem now.
But if you are traveling a lot how can you synchonize this
automatically ? Is there any utility that works for that purpose ?

There is and update also here for Outlook 2007, however is a manual
task. I wonder if a third party utility can do the job.

Thanks for your help
