Using XP Pro and Word 2002: I'm interested in the time-saving possibilities
of a macro; but all the instructions I've seen say that in order to create a
'hotkey' keyboard shortcut, it is necessary to use [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[whatever
key I want]. Question: How to create a macro using only a single
[whatever key I want] shortcut key, without having to use [Ctrl]+[Shift] as
a preamble

Obviously you couldn't use any character key on its own unless you write
lipograms. The only single keys you can use are the function keys -- and
then only if you're prepared to forego their existing assignments. Apart
from that, you have to use CTRL or ALT, optionally in combination with each
other and/or shift, plus one other key.

Many thanxfor your help - appreciate it -John
