Jean-Guy,

Perhaps you can be more specific about "wouldn't let you." Error message?
If so, is there a "Debug" option? We may need to know the Excel version on
which the file was created, and your friend's version.

Hi, no there's no error messages, just the warning about macros an
certificates. I have office 2000 but don't know which version my frien
has, probably office xp

Jean-Guy,

So what happens when you try to run the macro? Nothing? Perhaps you should
go into the VBE (Alt F11) and step through it (F8), and see if it's doing
anything.

I can't step through it because excel will not allow me to run macros
I've set the secrurity to "low" but it still won't allow me!
I don't know when I will be at his house again so I can't try anythin
just yet

When you say that you set the security to Low, does that mean you changed the
security level on his pc? (It's a pc level setting--not workbook.)

And did you close and reopen your workbook after you changed this setting on his
pc? It's not retroactive.

And finally, xl2002 has a way of disabling workbooks that it thinks are damaged.

Help|About MS Excel|Disabled Items.

Anything there?
