For the love of god, how do you make a macro shortcut work
in excel 2003??

I go to Tools/Macro/Macros i select the macro i want to
assign a shortcut key to and the click on options, then in
the little shortcut textbox i slect a letter, i.e. q or m, etc.

i then click on ok and cancel then i save the excel file,
i press ctrl+q or ctrl+m,etc., and nothing happens..

no matter what letter i assign as a shortcut it doesn't
work, is there any code i should include in the
initialisation of excel..?

Any help much appreciated,
rgds,
Alex

Hi Alex
I don't use xl2003 but the 'cancel' part of your line;
i then click on ok and cancel then i save the excel file

makes me think you are cancelling what you have just
entered. Usually you OK out of textboxes to close them.

Nope that is unfortunatelly not the case

there seems to be a problem with my macro only as with all
other macros it works impecably..

thanks anyway,
Alex

Does it run if you issue it from the Tools>Macro>Macros menu?
