macro recorder

For some reason when I invoke the macro recorder (Tools/Macro/Record a New
Macro) I do not get the accompanying tool bar with the "Stop recording"
button or the the "Relative" cell reference button. Is there some setting
in Options that needs to be set or do I need to re-install Excel?

View>Toolbars>Stop recording

If you don't see it there........

Tools>Customize>Toolbars..Stop Recording. Checkmark it.

Note: you will lose it again if you hit the "X" to close it while recording a
macro.

Always hit the "Stop recording" button.
