Macro Confusion

I have created macro's and they are stored in my template directory in a file TestFile.xls.

If I open Excel, then File Open, New, and choose "TestFile" from the template directory,
the new file is "TestFile1.xls".

Now if I close "TestFile1.xls" (without saving), and then open the original "TestFile.xls"
from the template directory, all of the macros location names have been changed to
include "TestFile1" instead of "TestFile".

I'm confused. Why is the original location of the macros being changed in the original
file?

How do you use your macros?

Tools|Macro|Macros...

or do you use an attached toolbar?

I'm guessing yes to the attached toolbar.
