Machine Shutdown

I have recently rebuilt my machine as a Windows 2000
Professional (previously Win98SE) and now when I shut down
the machine it leaves me at the "safe to switch off"
message instead of actually closing the thing down. I
have loaded all the latest patches etc but still no joy.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you need a vendor specific patch. I used to see this with a lot
of the old HP boxes.
