Machine reboots 50% of the times I disconnect my dialup connection

I have windows 2000 pro. When my modem disconnects from
the internet, about half of the time it reboots my
machine. Any ideas of what might be happening?

IF you have dialup and IF you are using an ISP that launches a 'Connect' window, check if it has an options tab. Some have an option to shutdown the computer when you close the connection.
