hey jad,
What do you think about Ccleaner? I've been using it for years and also
recommend it to others. I'd hate to find out I've been a nitwit
about this. I've run it on systems and got 5 gigs of hard drive
space back! Also, I like the interface of the uninstall feature it has.

I am not Jad, but i have used ccleaner from the
first moment I found it.
Normally I am quite uncertain about what to clean
off my disks, and I am glad to get some assistance
in that.
Also if I intend to start a spybot or adaware scan,
I first use ccleaner to get rid of trash and cookies
in various temp/cache locations.
It cuts down on unwanted detections.
I have not had any problems with losing things this way.
I have enabled all options in Ccleaner windows/applications,
except the advanced block.

Most times when huge amounts are found, it's the X:/windows/temp folder.

Hell, Mike I am hardly the last word on utilities. I don't like them and most of the time
windows comes with the ability to do those things without help. e.g. cleaning cookies and
the like. The biggest culprit for botching things is NORTON, and almost every 'registry'
cleaner out there is a time bomb. (strictly my experience fixing botched rigs, right after
people using one of those.) I think Windows 2000 was designed to fall apart if a
'registry' cleaner was used. If you know how- and are happy with -and the interface is
easy for EVERYONE to use, then use it, your odds are better that it won't stuff up your
machine after having 5 years experience using it.
