Machine calls internet everytime I restart.

Hello Everyone:

My machine at the office calls out on the phone line and makes a phone call
every time the machine starts up.

Yes its Win2K and I have applied up to patch 3

any ideas would be appreciated.

Maybe your
1. Operating system is looking for updates.
2. Anti-virus is looking for updates.
3. Your e-mail is checking for messages
4. Mal-ware is phoning home.

Check your modem setting.
if it is normal, replug the modem ( External ) or reinsert (PCI) it.
If the problem exist, try another modem.
