Josh

I've recently switched back to the PC platform. I have
a .Mac account and still use my .Mac e-mail account.

It is a POP3 account and requires I use smtp.mac.com to
send e-mails in the server set up.

I've been getting this message that I can't send the e-
mail because of an Error Number: 0x800ccc18

Can any one tell me how to fix this problem?

Use a Mac.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Josh asked:

Did you specify smtp.mac.com as your SMTP address? Do you need to
authenticate to it before sending? Can you telnet to it on port 25 in a
command line?

smtp.mac.com requires authentication. Double-check your settings.

Are you properly authenticating to the outgoing server?
