An error message during bootup stated " system error,
object not found lsass.exe". The computer shut down,
rebooted, error message, shut down, etc...Could not
recover, no way. Complete loss of files and had to
reinstall xp.I don't use this laptop to access the
Internet. Called HP, they said this is a known issue,
Windows XP< related to SP1, has to do with "encryption
issues" no known method to recover. This experience
brings me to several questions:
1. Is microsoft aware of this problem?
2. Can I look forward to another complete loss of data
files on another machine running XP?
3. Is there a way to prevent this?
Any response is appreciated.
