I have the same problem... Found lots of information
about lsass.exe, but nothing help fix the problem.
I just reloaded XP-pro back on the laptop using a
directory named xpwin. I am hoping to find a fix for this
problem, so that I can at least get the data from the "my
doucments" folder.
I fear that is the case also. I found microsoft's removal
tool, but this is of no use to me since I can not
completely boot the laptop up. Is it possible to remove
this virus mannualy?
If nothing helps to remove the virus, your last resort would be to
attach the HD to another computer as a second or slave HD
and then recover access to your folders... to do so Take Ownership
of files and folders and if necessary change effective permissions
to remove Read Only access...
