lsass.exe system error

I turn my computer on today and xp pro started to load and quit. The error said lsass.exe system error. The end point format is invalid. I click on ok and it starts all over and comes to the same message. How can I fix this? I really don’t want to have to reinstall xp and start over

I am unable to get to my c drive or load xp to get to the start menu. any suggestions. thanks

Can you get into Safe Mode (F8) ?

Did you install the latest Microsoft Patch - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...9E-DA3F-43B9-A4F1-AF243B6168F3&displaylang=en

I may be looking too far ahead, but your symptoms sound similar to a Sasser infection - if you can get into Windows, make sure this update is installed, and then run a virus scan on your system with an up to date Virus scanner

I will see if i can get in through the safe mode. I thought i had updted my patch
